Subject: FAO . DCI WALL, and the Grange Team

Dear DCI Wall,

I refer to today's reports of the enquiry into Operation Midland.

"Sir Richard, who was commissioned to review the investigation by the Metropolitan Police in February 2016, concluded:
“The principal cause of the many failures in this investigation was poor judgement and a failure to accurately evaluate known facts and to react to them.
“A major contributing factor was the culture that ‘victims’ must be believed.
“Whilst the responsible Officers assert that they kept an open mind, several failures can only be explained by an unwarranted and disproportionate belief in ‘Nick's’ credibility.”
The review said that major inconsistencies between Beech’s accounts, a lack of corroborating evidence and overall “implausibility” was not properly challenged.”

May we, the tax-paying public, now have confidence that Operation Grange will take note of this report,
will start to have an open mind, will cease automatically to believe the ‘victims’ [the McCanns],
and will now begin to take account of the major inconsistencies between the McCanns’ and the Tapas 7’s accounts,
the complete lack of any corroborating evidence, and will properly challenge the overall "implausibility" of the scenario put forward as the ‘Official Account’, bearing in mind the overwhelming weight of contrary evidence.

I remain, Ma'am,
Yours sincerely

Peter Mac****
